These are general instructions. If Dr. Di Lisio gave you different instructions for your visit, follow hers.
While you're numb
Wait until the numbness wears off before eating, usually a few hours, so you don't bite your cheek, lip, or tongue. Be careful with hot drinks.
Sensitivity
Some sensitivity to hot, cold, or pressure is normal for a few days and usually fades. A toothpaste for sensitive teeth can help.
Your bite
If your bite feels high or uneven once the numbness is gone, call us. A quick adjustment fixes it.
Brushing and flossing
Brush and floss normally, starting the same day.
Call us if
Your bite still feels off after the numbness wears off, sensitivity gets worse instead of better, or you have pain that over-the-counter medicine doesn't help.
Call (314) 894-9700If you have facial swelling that affects your breathing or swallowing, a high fever, or uncontrolled bleeding, go to the nearest emergency room or call 911.
